Style mistakes you might be making

Fashion is way to express ourselves and it shows a lot about our tastes and style. And being fashionable isn’t just about wearing the trendiest clothes but it’s about how you wear it. When done correctly, it can make you stand out in the crowd and make you look elegant and drop dead gorgeous. But let’s admit it ladies, we are all guilty of making a few fashion faux pas and they somehow crawl their way back to haunt us later. But that doesn’t mean you are the worst person at fashion, it merely means that there are some set fashion clichés or dos and don’ts that we are supposed to abide by. You should always keep them in mind whether or not you are a sucker for fashion. If you are guilty of these style no-no’s, it’s time to put a stop at it and if not then you may make a mental note to avoid them.

Improper fit

So, oversized shirts and sweaters look cute, but totally out of shape, unstructured clothes will definitely wreck your style. Not everything oversized looks good, while an oversized sweater looks great, but you will need extra time to buy a blazer as an ill fitted blazer will straightaway lead to fashion disaster. And leave alone the things that don’t fit you any longer and don’t try to squeeze yourself in it desperately. Pay attention to the fit of your clothes and avoid ill-fitted, sloppy items.

Buying everything in one size

Not everything in medium size is going to look flattering on you. Different brands have different sizings and while a Forever21 sweater in size medium might fit you snugly but the same size in Marks&Spencer might be too big for you. Choose the size of your clothes wisely and take a note on how they look on your body before trusting the numbers.

Dirty shoes

Dirty shoes are a big no-no in fashion world. A person can tell a lot about you by just glancing at your footwear. It can tell what kind of person you are what are your priorities. Your outfit might be top notch but your shoes might ruin all the effect of your total outfit. Keep your shoes tidy and clean if they tend to get dirty often.

Following trends blandly

Trends have a way to tempt us into trying them basically because they are followed by all the famous people. But trends don’t look good on everyone and blindly following them in the name of fashion is big no-no. Wear things that look best on you and create your own style. Style is different from fashion in a way that fashion is what you see in stores but style is whether you choose to buy it. Trends will go as soon as the season changes but your style is eternal. Don’t buy it because everyone else is wearing it but get it because it will look good on you.

Too much bling-bling

A flashy bracelet today and a statement necklace tomorrow might look great but both of them on the same day will be the biggest mistake you will make. But we aren’t saying that you shouldn’t take this tip too seriously. If you like to play with your accessories try it with few chosen pieces and do it carefully. When done correctly, you will definitely pass for a fashion diva but overdoing it will kill the fashion vibes.

Wearing tights as pants

Tight are not pants! This is a very basic and the most important fashion mistake that you cannot ignore. You cannot wear tights under a t-shirt as pants, it will look downright tacky. You can wear tights with a dress or with long shirts or sweaters but never should they replace pants. They aren’t functional as pants and don’t offer enough coverage.
